U Pain (ဦးပိန္တံတား)

Amarapura, one of the capitals of the third Myanmar Empire, is about 11 kilometers south of Mandalay.
အမရပူရျမဳိ႕သည္တတိယျမန္မာအင္ပါယာ၏
ျမဳိ.ေတာ္အပါအဝင္တစ္ခုျဖစ္ၿပီး မႏၲေလးျမဳိ႕ေတာင္ဘက္၁၁ကီလိုမီတာအကြာ
ခန္႔တြင္တည္ရွိသည္။

Amarapura, there is a huge teak bridge spanning the Taungthaman Lake, a shallow one.
အမရပူရျမဳိ႕အနီးရွိေတာင္သမန္အင္ႀကီးတြင္
္ႀကီးမားေသာကြ်န္သစ္မ်ားျဖင့္တည္ေဆာက္
ထားေသာ တံတားႀကီးတစ္စင္းရွိသည္။
That is called the U Pain (U Bein).
ထိုတံတားကိုဦးပိန္ဟုေခၚသည္။

The 1.2-kilometre (0.75 mi) bridge was built around 1850 and is believed to be the oldest and longest teakwood bridge in the world.
1850 ဝန္က်င္တြင္တည္ေဆာက္ခဲ့ၿပီး
မိုင္အားျဖင့္တမိုင္၏ေလးပုံပုံသုံးပုံ
ခန့္ရွိကာကမာၻအရွည္ဆုံးႏွင့္အၾကာဆုံးကြ်န္း
သစ္တံတားဟုမွတ္ယူခဲ့ၾကသည္။
The construction was started in 1849 and finished in 1851.
1849 စတင္တည္ေဆာက္ခဲ့ၿပီး 1851မွာၿပီးဆုံးခဲ့ပါတယ္။
And the age is 0ver the 166 years.
တံတားရဲ႕သက္တမ္းက 166 သက္တမ္းၾကာသည္။
Its built by U Pain.So ,called U pain Bridge.At that time U pain was as a mayor in Amarapura.

ဦးပိန္တည္ေဆာက္ခဲ့ေသာေၾကာင့္ဦးပိန္တံတားဟုေခၚသည္။
အဲ့အခ်ိန္တုန္းက ဦးပိန္သည္ အမရပူရတြင္ျမဳိ႕ေတာ္ဝန္အျဖစ္တာဝန္ထမ္း
ေဆာင္ခဲ့သည္။
The bridge was built from wood reclaimed from the former royal palace inwa.
တံတားကိုတည္ေဆာက္ရာတြင္သစ္သားမ်ား
ကိုေရွးယခင္အင္းဝနန္းေတာ္တြင္ရွိခဲ့သည္ဟု
ေဖာ္ျပခဲ့သည္။
It features 1,086 pillars that stretch out of the water, some of which have been replaced with concrete.
တိုင္ေပါင္း1086တိုင္ကိုေရထဲတြင္စိုက္ထူခဲ့ၿပီးတခ်ဳိ့ကိုကြန္ကရစ္ျဖင့္အစားထိုးခဲ့သည္။
Though the bridge largely remains intact, there are fears that an increasing number of
pillars are becoming dangerously decayed. Some have become entirely detached from their bases and only remain in place because of the lateral bars holding them together. Damage to these supports have been caused by flooding as well as a fish breeding program introduced into the lake which has caused the water to become stagnant. The Ministry of Culture’s Department of Archaeology, National Museum and Library plans to carry out repairs when plans for the work are finalised.

ပုံစံအတိုင္းျဖစ္သည္။ထိုေၾကာင့္တံတားႀကီးမပ်က္စီးေစရန္အတြက္
အစီစဥ္မ်ားျပဳလုပ္ခဲ့သည္။ထိုေၾကာင့္ျမဳိ႕ေတာ္ယဥ္ေက်းမႈထိန္းသိမ္းေသာအဖြဲ႕အစည္းကပ်က္စီးေနေသာေနရာမ်ားျပဳျပင္
ၿပီးအၿပီးသတ္ေဆာက္လုပ္ခဲ့သည္။

ထို႔ေၾကာင့္ကြန္ကရစ္ကိုအလယ္နားေက်ာ္ေက်ာ္တြင္ေတြ႕ရွိရမွာျဖစ္ပါတယ္။

According to historic books about U Bein Bridge, Myanmar engineers made scale by counting the footsteps.
ျမန္မာအင္ဂ်ီနီယာမ်ားက ေျခလွမ္းနဲ႔တိုင္းတာၿပီးေဆာက္လုပ္ခဲ့သည္ကို
ဦးပိန္သမိုင္းရာဇဝင္စာအုပ္တြင္ေဖာ္ျပခဲ့သည္။

ထိုတံတားသည္ေရွးျမန္မာ အင္ဂ်င္နီယာမ်ား၏အရည္အခ်င္းကိုျပသျခင္းပင္ျဖစ္သည္။
The bridge was built in curve shape in the middle to resist the assault of wind and water. The main teak posts were hammered into lake
တံတာကိုေလ ဒဏ္ႏွင့္ေရဒဏ္ခံႏိုင္ေအာင္အလယ္နားတြင္
ေကြးထားသည္။

It is particularly busy during July and August when the lake is at its highest.
သာမန္အားျဖင့္july ႏွင့္Augest လတို႔တြင္ လူလာမ်ားေသာအခ်ိန္ျဖစ္သည္။ထိုအခ်ိန္သည္ ကန္ေရတက္ခ်ိန္ပင္ျဖစ္သည္။
